My Favorite Grocery Store

When you are trying to buy more healthy foods, I recommend Fred Meyer if they have one near you. The bulk section is great when you want to buy things that might otherwise be expensive. I buy things like nuts, organic evaporated cane syrup, whole grains, beans, and I love to buy spices there. Actually, if you are going to buy spices- DON'T buy anywhere else. They are very cheap and much more fresh this way.

They also have an awesome selection of natural foods, supplements, and organic options. I find that I spend less when I shop there too. Often it will look cheaper to shop at another store because of sales and other things, but when I look at the bill each time it's always cheaper when I shop there.

The other one I recommend, Trader Joe's. Now, I do have a complaint about them. They don't have one close to my home and I have to travel a bit to get there, but it's a great store. Good prices, good healthy selection. I dig Joe's Trader style.

Yay for Freddy's! (and Joe's!)

Also, I'm not sure if you went to the TJ's in Federal Way or UP last week, but I wanted to let you know that the one in Federal Way has relocated to a larger building and is now the same size as the one in UP. You may already know that, but just in case you didn't :)

If you don't know the name Fred Meyer, you might be more familiar with Kroger. Both the same parent company. I too get the best overall deal at Freddy's. They have the best produce and they offer lots of organic and "health nut" choices. Plus they sell other items like housewares clothing and hardware garden etc.
One-stop-shopping is a big draw for me!

Ambie You think you have a long drive. It't 154 miles one way to our closest Fred Myers and no trader Joe's at all. That's 160 miles one TARGET or Wally World also.

Im glad someone besides me mentioned Target. Where is the love? I know we don't have the fancy spices and organic produce at all locations, but come on...some of them do...just not in WA!

I'm so jealous! I never even heard of Trader Joe's and Sprouts until my mom moved to Arizona a year and a half ago and she took me to both of them and I love them! There is no Sprouts within driving distance from here and Trader Joe's is 2 hours in one direction and 3 hours in another direction *sigh*. I know you weren't talking about Sprouts, but that is one of the stores my mom shops at for healthy foods. I've never even heard of Fred Meyer. I really do live in an underdeveloped area! Just wondering if you would feel like sharing some food and recipe ideas!

When I am not shopping at Target (hehehe) I LOVE Freddys, considering I can see the store from my yard I think I am pretty lucky! I go crazy in their organic section. My only complaint is they are ALWAYS out of greek yogurt! I really love Trader Joes too!! They have these Blueberry, cranberry, and mango bran muffins that are AMAZING! Makes my tummy growl just thinking of them! I agree, we do need one closer! Like in South Hill would be nice!
