Best Play Dough Ever

I was looking for a good play dough recipe a few weeks ago and I found this one. It turned out beautifully and Curly loves it too.

4 cups water
1 cup salt
4 cups flour
4 Tbs oil
1/2 cup cream of tartar

Mix in a sauce pan and cook over medium heat, stirring until it becomes the texture of instant mashed potatoes. It shouldn't be sticky, but will set a little as it cools.

I then split into four portions and color it. Just knead the food coloring in ,you can stir in the beginning if you want to keep your hands from dying too much. My hands were normal by the end of the day. We added glitter just for fun too.

It's really soft and shapes very well. I wanted to add that the cream of tartar can be expensive, but if you buy it in the bulk spice section at Fred Meyer it's not bad at all. The recipe makes all the play dough you see in the picture with Curly. You can cut it down if you don't have a good place to get the cream of tartar for a cheap price, or you can look online for some recommendations. There are some other suggestions out there too.
